Rob is SVP of eCommerce and CRM at Talbots where he has overseen eCommerce, Mobile, Online Marketing, and eMail since 2013 and CRM since 2015. Previously he was part of the leadership team at Intent Media, a big data decisioning and marketing firm. Before joining Intent Media in 2010, Rob was CMO at Smart Destinations, a ticketing platform for museums, sights, and tours. He led online and offline marketing, as well as the web store responsible for 70% of the company’s B2C sales. Rob also spent several years at GSI Commerce (eBay Enterprise), leading a business unit responsible for the online stores of over 30 retailers and brands, including Timberland, Bath & Body Works, Major League Baseball, Elizabeth Arden, and adidas. Earlier in his career, he led the retail practice of Fort Point Partners building ecommerce platforms for companies like BestBuy and J.Crew. He focused on the Internet as an eCommerce Specialist at McKinsey & Co. and was part of Internet pioneer Worlds Inc. in the mid-90’s.
Rob serves on the Board of Shop.org and Chairs the Digital Council for the National Retail Federation. He is also Board Treasurer of the MicroLoan Foundation, a non-profit microfinance organization supporting female entrepreneurship in Africa. He has been an advisor to multiple start-ups including BazaarVoice, Intent Media, and Spinback.
Rob has an MBA from Harvard and an M.Phil from Cambridge University. He received his BA from Yale. He lives in suburban Boston with his wife and two daughters, all of them proud Talbots loyalists.
